What are frog coins in Super Mario RPG?

Frog Coins are a special type of currency in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and the Switch remake that can only be spent in a select amount of shops. However, Frog Coins are your only way of buying certain healing items and a few unique accessories, and you'll come across plenty of ways to earn them in Super Mario RPG.

How many frog coins are there?

At the Midas River falls, four Frog Coins appear outside of the caves. After the barrel-jumping event, the player can also exchange 60 recently-obtained coins for one Frog Coin. By collecting 100 coins in one session, the player is awarded with five Frog Coins.
